Gabriel Jesus sends six-word Arsenal message after fans said he was ‘finished’
Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has taken to social media to celebrate his hattrick in their 3-2 League Cup win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday (December 18).
The 27-year-old opened his account just after half-time, canceling out Jean-Philippe Mateta’s fourth-minute opener.
Jesus then gave the home side the lead after Bukayo Saka slipped the striker through before he calmly slotted past Dean Henderson in the Palace goal.
The Brazilian then rounded off his hattrick in the 81st minute before former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah made it tense in the last few minutes but it was too little too late.
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus gets his season underway with Crystal Palace hattrick
Jesus has struggled so far this season, starting just eight of his 23 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals, and providing two assists in 795 minutes of action.
Delighted with his hattrick, Jesus took to Instagram to celebrate sending Mikel Arteta’s side to the League Cup semi-finals, saying: “To God be all the Glory.”

Arsenal’s 0-0 Premier League draw with Everton sees them fall four points behind Chelsea in second and six points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Arteta’s side will face Palace once again on Saturday (December 21), this time in the Premier League as they aim to keep within touching distance of the top two.
