Gabriel sends Arsenal rival message after he was replaced vs Man United
Gabriel has taken to social media to pay tribute to Arsenal teammate Jakub Kiwior, after the centre-back took his place in the side for the win over Man United.
While much was made of the changes Ruben Amorim made to his side for the game, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was also forced into a number of alterations for the match.
One of those was at centre-back, where Gabriel was absent through injury, with Kiwior coming into the side to replace him.
The 24-year-old then produced a solid performance to help Arsenal to a 2-0 win at The Emirates on Wednesday night (4 December), which his fellow centre-back certainly seemed to enjoy.
On his Instagram story after the game, Gabriel posted a picture of himself embracing Kiwior on the touchline at full-time with both cheering in celebration.
The Brazilian then tagged his fellow defender in the post, alongside a loveheart emoji.
A big moment in Jakub Kiwior’s Arsenal career
Football Insider Opinion
It does feel as though this outing against Man United could prove to be significant for Kiwior when it comes to his prospects at The Emirates.
He has not always convinced since arriving in North London, and it is already understood that the possibility of an exit for him is being considered.

This match though was a much more solid performance from the Poland international, who did not let Arsenal down at any point.
Given how good Gabriel has been for the Gunners, it is hard to imagine Kiwior will keep his place in the side once the Brazilian is fit and available again.
Even so, this performance should instill some more confidence in both himself and others about what he can do for Arsenal when called upon again.
That may yet lead to more opportunities as Arteta looks to manage his side’s workload on several fronts this season, and you wonder whether that could prompt a re-think about his future with the Gunners.
In other news, an attacking sensation now knows the Gunners are after him and his likely home next season has emerged.
