Gaetano Berardi sends message to Leeds fans

By Dominic Toner

Leeds defender Gaetano Berardi has urged fans to sell out Elland Road from now until the end of the season.

The Whites have been in phenomenal home form this season and that has played a major role in their push for promotion.

Garry Monk’s side are fourth-placed in the Championship table and are likely to end up in the play-offs at the end of the season.

Leeds’ considerable improvement under Monk this campaign has helped the club have big attendances at home.

Berardi has sent a message to fans calling on them to continue their support during the closing months of the season.

“Hopefully we will continue to see Elland Road full like in the last few games because we need it like that,” Berardi said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Leeds are biding to get back into the Premier League and will need to overturn an eight-point deficit if they are to make the automatic positions.

Berardi has been an important player in their success and proved to be a permanent feature in Monk.

The versatile defender has been used in both full-back positions this campaign and made 22 appearances this season across all competitions.

In other Leeds news, Neil Redfearn believes the club should sign these two players in the summer.
