Garry Monk hailed his players and thanked supporters on Twitter after Leeds defeated Aston Villa 2-0 at Elland Road on Saturday evening.
Summer signing Kemar Roofe netted his first goal for the club when he headed in the opener after the hour mark, before striker Chris Wood made sure of all three points by scoring in stoppage time.
Former Oxford player Roofe had not scored in his previous 22 games for the club, but his teammate Wood scored his 13th of the campaign in all competitions.
The win ensured the Whites maintained their play-off spot and closed the gap on the top two to seven points, with the Yorkshire club set to travel to second place Brighton next Friday.
After Monk guided his side to all three points against Steve Bruce’s men, he posted this message on his personal Twitter account.

The Elland Road club put the disappointment of midweek behind them, which saw them knocked out of the quarter-final stages of the EFL Cup to Liverpool.
In the Championship, Leeds have now won five of their last six league games, with their only defeat coming on home soil against leaders Newcastle.
As a result they are fourth in the table with 32 points from 19 games, while Villa tasted their first defeat under Bruce as they slip down to 15th, six points off the final play-off spot.
