Gary Lineker drops Harvey Elliott verdict in new message after source’s Liverpool transfer reveal
Harvey Elliott’s performances on international duty this summer could allow Liverpool to ramp up his transfer valuation.
Liverpool have been busy so far in the current transfer window with almost £200million spent already, over half of which went on breaking their club record fee to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
The German international’s £100m arrival at Anfield is likely to see him go straight into Arne Slot‘s starting XI, and this could put paid to Elliott’s chances of increased game-time in attacking midfield.
Elliott featured just 18 times in the Premier League for Liverpool last season and accumulated just 822 minutes in all competitions, and an exit looks all the more likely after his exploits for England Under-21s.

Lineker reacts to ‘Brilliant’ Elliott statistic after England success
Brighton are among the clubs keen to sign Elliott this summer, but his displays for England at the Under-21 Euros have turned even more heads.
Sources have told Football Insider that leading Serie A and Bundesliga clubs have joined Premier League time in the race to land the Liverpool player.
Elliott proved to be the focal point of Lee Carsley‘s side as they beat Germany 3-2 to secure back-to-back European Championship titles, and netted the opener in the decider after just five minutes.
That strike was the 22-year-old’s fifth in six matches, and after Jonathan Rowe replaced the Liverpool man to come on and score the winner in extra time, Elliott received the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award.
Former England striker Gary Lineker spotted Elliott’s statistics in an Instagram post from BBC Sport, and shared them on his own story (29 June) with the one-word assessment of: “Brilliant”.

Elliott increases price tag ahead of Liverpool transfer
Football Insider Verdict
Although he was only given 822 minutes last season, Liverpool won’t accept any less than £40m for Elliott this summer and his performances for England could see that price tag go up by several notches.
Liverpool fans argued that Elliott should command a transfer fee as high as £70m, but it remains to be seen if Brighton or any Premier League side keen on the midfielder will be willing to pay such a figure.
Elliott has already turned down a move for Europe-bound Nottingham Forest, and an Under-21 Euros player of the tournament award will only enforce the idea that Liverpool’s number 19 has his pick of clubs this summer.
