Gary Neville delivers Liverpool verdict on top four hopes
By Dominic Toner
Gary Neville believes that Liverpool have a great chance of getting into the top four, but feels they do need to come up with a plan B in games.
The Reds managed to secure a narrow 2-1 victory on Sunday against Burnley and cemented their position in the top four.
Ashley Barnes put the visitors in front at Anfield in just the 7th minute, but Georginio Wijnaldum equalised on the stroke of half-time.
Emre Can went on to score the winning goal for the Merseyside club and they managed to avenge the 2-0 defeat to Burnley from the previous league meeting.
Sky Sports pundit Neville feels the result leaves them with a great chance of earning a Champions League spot this season, but is not fully convinced about their tactics.

“They could potentially be the weakest in some ways, but the fact they’ve got a really good run does give them an advantage to get in there,” Neville said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “But it’s so tight and it changes week by week.”
“They don’t have a Plan B in terms of being able to control the game in a different style, and when teams don’t allow them to use their energy to press they’re far less effective. They have a great chance of getting into the top four, but they do have to overcome this style problem.”
Liverpool remain fourth-placed in the league table and their sole focus is now on obtaining a top four spot.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently five points above rivals Arsenal and six points ahead of Manchester United, but both sides have two games in hand.
The Reds face a huge test against third-placed Manchester City in their next match and will take a massive step towards their goal with a victory.
Liverpool are unbeaten against teams in the top six so far this campaign and have found it more difficult against sides in the bottom half of the table.
