Gary Neville has predicted that Leeds United will beat Preston North End in their first Championship home match of the season.

The Yorkshire giants host Preston at Elland Road this afternoon (Saturday) aiming to follow up their opening-day triumph against Bolton with another win.

Sky Sports pundit and Manchester United legend Neville expects former foe Leeds to end the day with six points from their first two league fixtures.

“I’ll go Leeds to win, unfortunately,” said Neville as he made his Super 6 predictions ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, as quoted by their Twitter account.

United had fierce battles with Leeds during Neville’s playing days in the first half of his career, with little love lost between the clubs.

The Championship outfit have been outside of the top flight for 13 years but are hopeful of mounting a strong promotion challenge under new manager Thomas Christiansen this season.

Leeds finished seventh in the league under ex-boss Garry Monk in the last campaign after a final-month collapse ended their play-off hopes.

They have signed 10 new players this summer, including headline captures Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski.
