Gary O’Neil makes unbelievable Pedro Neto claim after Chelsea’s win over Wolves
Pedro Neto was a standout player as Chelsea bypassed Wolves with ease in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea remain in the Premier League title race, moving within six points of league leaders Arsenal following their 3-0 win over the Old Gold on Saturday, 8 November.
Malo Gusto surprised Enzo Maresca by opening the scoring, popping up at the back post to smash home Alejandro Garnacho‘s cross, with Joao Pedro and Neto adding icing on the cake in West London.
Wolves, on the other hand, remain bottom of the Premier League table with two points from 11 matches, yet to find their first league win of the season after being haunted by one of their former players.
Gary O’Neil absolutely loves Chelsea’s Pedro Neto
After the Blues entered cruise control, Neto added a third after yet another decent ball from Garnacho, with others too busy drooling over 18-year-old Estevao.
Speaking on Sky Sports Main Event (8 November), O’Neil said: “The thing holding him back [Estevao] is that he’s got the best winger I’ve ever worked with in Pedro Neto in front of him.
“For Enzo Maresca, imagine having the pair of them to choose from. I know he’s going to have to balance the competitions, but he’s a top, top talent, Estevao.”
Maresca has two huge stars on his hands, who are both battling for the right-wing spot in the Chelsea lineup, and this season will put the cat amongst the pigeons with Champions League football.
Enzo Maresca to worry Chelsea fans with his admission about Neto
Moises Caicedo appeared to injure himself early in the first half, but after the midfielder played the entire 90 minutes, it was clear that the Ecuadorian international was fit enough to carry on.
The same cannot be said for Neto or Enzo Fernandez, however, with Maresca admitting, “Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez asked for change for groin and knee injuries.”
With an upcoming international break, there will be plenty of time for the duo to recover before games against Barcelona and Arsenal in the coming weeks, and their return could be vital.
The Blues are already without the likes of Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill, and Maresca will not want to be missing any more of his stars once the international break finishes.
