‘Generational’ – Tottenham fans wowed by player who was ‘world class’ vs West Ham

Tottenham fans were wowed by one player in particular for the part he played in their 3-0 rout of London rivals West Ham United.

Thomas Frank was looking to attack West Ham’s weak shot stopper Mads Hermansen, as Tottenham travelled to the London Stadium on Saturday evening.

Frank’s side thought they had taken the lead early in the first half when Cristian Romero headed in a corner but Tottenham’s goal was controversially ruled out for a foul in the build up.

Frank’s side recovered from the early set back, scoring three second half goals to secure all three points for the visitors.

Pape Matar Sarr headed home the first from Xavi Simons’ corner, before Lucas Bergvall looped a header over Hermansen following a long pass from Romero, with Micky van der Ven completing the rout midway through the second half.

Frank would have been looking for the instant impact that Simons and his other attacking players provided, after worrying injury updates from Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison over the international break.

Tottenham’s start to the season was electric, beating Burnley 3-0 on the opening day, before a 2-0 victory over Manchester City put Frank’s side on the map.

A 1-0 loss to Bournemouth was a set back before the international break, but Tottenham’s 3-0 hammering of West Ham will give Frank renewed optimism.

Tottenham fans weren’t hesitant to show their optimism for one particular star, as they clamoured to social media to sing the praises of Bergvall.

Bergvall scored the second of the match with a strong header, capping off an impressive match for the young midfielder.

One fan said: “I had certain people questioning whether Lucas Bergvall is a decent player. He’s one of the best teenagers currently operating in the premier league this season. World class talent pending.”

With another fan seemingly mesmerised by Bergvall’s talent, saying: “Wow. Don’t ever put Bergvall out of the starting XI. Generational.”

Another fan simply said: “Thoroughly enjoying this Lucas Bergvall display,” with the 19-year-old now looking at building on his promising match ahead of Tottenham’s first Champions League game at home against Villarreal on Wednesday.
