Mousa Dembele has been hailed by one of Tottenham’s opponents on Thursday night as good enough to play for Barcelona.
The veteran of over 500 appearances for club and country is widely regarded as one of the outstanding central midfielders in the Premier League.
He is also frequently identified by teammates and opponents as a top-level performer who improves the teams he plays for.
Gent midfielder Brecht Dejaegere, who will go toe to toe with Dembele and company in Thursday’s Europa League second leg at Wembley, added his voice to those lauding the Tottenham man.
“Mousa Dembele is so good: technically impressive, strong, he could play for Barca if you ask me,” said Dejaegere, as quoted by the personal Twitter account of England-based Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur.

In addition, he has been a mainstay of the Belgium national team that has taken advantage of an outstanding generation of players to become a genuine world force.
Dembele has accumulated 67 international caps, scoring five goals.
