Paul Robinson has claimed Steven Gerrard will be over the moon to hear Alfredo Morelos may sign a new contract at Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and England number one said the 24-year-old has the opportunity to be “part of something special” at Ibrox with Champions League football on the horizon.
Morelos‘ future has been the subject of great speculation over the past two seasons, despite the Colombian being under contract until the summer of 2023.
I have been told reliably by a couple of sources that Alfredo Morelos wants to stay on at Rangers for next season.

The 4th Official now claims the Colombia international wants to remain in Glasgow and compete in the Champions League next season.
Talks are also said to be underway with sporting director Ross Wilson regarding a new deal.
Robinson, who is friends with and a former teammate of Gers boss Steven Gerrard, said he understands why Morelos wants to stay.
“That will be music to Steven’s ears because there has been a lot of speculation over his future over the past couple of seasons,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“That squad have a chance to be part of something special at Rangers going forward. Next season is going to be very exciting. They are going to be in the Champions League and defending their title with fans hopefully back at Ibrox.
“It will be a great test for Morelos in the Champions League next season. Can he stand up to it? It is going to be very interesting to watch.
“You can understand his reasons for wanting to stay.”
