‘Get off the pitch’ – Chelsea fans in disbelief at ‘terrible’ Pedro Neto moment vs Man City

Chelsea fans were stunned by Pedro Neto’s performance in Sunday’s draw at the Etihad Stadium with Manchester City.

Enzo Fernandez‘s late goal saw Manchester City draw 1-1 with Chelsea, in a key game for the Premier League title race.

After Arsenal beat Bournemouth 3-2 on Saturday, Pep Guardiola‘s team now sit six points behind the Gunners.

For the Blues, despite the ecstasy of a late goal, they have now gone four consecutive Premier League games without a win.

Enzo Maresca parted ways with Chelsea on Thursday, with Liam Rosenior the favourite to take over in his wake.

Chelsea fans incensed: ‘I’m going to throw a party when Neto leaves’

Chelsea were behind just before the break when Tijjani Reijnders powered past Filip Jorgensen to give Manchester City the lead.

But as the game progressed, the visitors appeared to grow while the home side shrank into themselves.

Cole Palmer and Liam Delap had chances, and eventually Fernandez found the equaliser, but Chelsea may well have won this game if not for Neto.

The winger missed a glorious chance, skying over with the goal all but gaping, and time after time, he killed his team’s attacks by slowing down with the ball and consistently making the wrong decision.

The sheer lack of quality in his performance would have been enough to anger anyone watching, let alone the Chelsea fans.

Many of them took to social media to slam Neto, with one user simply asking him to “please get off the pitch”.

Another Chelsea fan said: “It is genuinely impressive how Neto ruins every single attack”.

Others demanded the winger “leave my club”, with a similar sentiment claiming “I’m going to throw a party when Neto leaves”.

Neto display follows emergence of hilarious stat

Neto is still just 25, but the winger has not quite lived up to the signing decision-makers at Chelsea thought they were getting when he was bought in 2024.

In fact, the Portugal international has never really managed to tie down a consistent end product in the Premier League, and one eye-opening stat emerged to prove it on Saturday.

After Gabriel scored in Arsenal‘s win over Bournemouth, the Brazilian centre-back has now scored exactly the same number of Premier League goals as Neto – 20.

The defender has made just eight more appearances in the competition than the forward, who has been in the league for longer than the Arsenal man.
