‘Get out of my club’ – Chelsea fans suggest Mauricio Pochettino getting ‘sacked tonight’ after what they’ve just seen
Chelsea fans on social media want to see Mauricio Pochettino sacked after what they saw in their team’s 1-0 win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues climbed up to eighth in the Premier League table after their win at Stamford Bridge, with the Londoners now nine points off the top four.
Cole Palmer scored the only goal of the game with the 21-year-old netting from the penalty spot late into the first half after Raheem Sterling was fouled.
The 21-year-old is Chelsea’s top scorer this season with his goal against the Cottagers taking his tally to 10 across all competitions.
He was signed by Pochettino from Man City in the summer for an initial fee of £40million as part of a major overhaul of Chelsea’s squad.
But the huge money invested by Chelsea in the summer has not translated into on-pitch success with the Blues struggling in the league, not competing in any European competition, and 1-0 down to Middlesbrough after the first leg of their League Cup semi-final.
Chelsea fans on social media are pointing the finger at Pochettino just nine months after he was appointed manager by Todd Boehly.
The former Spurs boss has won just 13 of his 27 games in charge of Chelsea, resulting in a win rate of just 48 percent.
Chelsea now have a 10-day break before they face Middlesbrough in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final.
Following that, Pochettino’s side resume their league campaign on 31 January with a trip to face Liverpool at Anfield.
