‘Get out of my club’ – Liverpool fans lay into ‘disgusting’ figure after surprise Jurgen Klopp dig
Liverpool fans have turned on Arne Slot after his comments following their Champions League win over Qarabag were interpreted as a dig at his predecessor Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool returned to winning ways with aplomb against Qarabag on Wednesday as they booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League at Anfield.
Slot‘s side were 2-0 up at half-time through strikes from Alexis Mac Allister and Florian Wirtz as Qarabag failed to match their quality and intensity.
Mac Allister grabbed his brace in the second-half, while Mo Salah, Ekitike and Chiesa all scored to make it 6-0 as the Reds finished third in the league stage standings.
The win saw them finish third in the first phase of the Champions League, after coming top of the table last season, and Slot was quick to remind Reds supporters of how well he feels his side has done in Europe since his arrival after the match.

Slot compares his current team to Klopp’s Europa League struggles in 2023-24
Liverpool did finish top of the league phase last season, but their UCL run ended in the round of 16 as they were beaten on penalties by eventual winners PSG.
They are now set to play one of Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray or Club Brugge in the same stage, with the aim of going all the way to the final for the first time since 2022.
Former Reds boss Klopp led the club to UCL football in seven of his nine full seasons at the helm, with his final campaign in 2023-24 spent in the Europa League, as they crashed out in the quarter-finals to Atalanta.
Slot was quick to remind Liverpool fans of their struggles in that competition before his arrival in his press conference after Wednesday’s win over Qarabag, saying: “We are happy to be in the last 16, especially when only two years ago we were in the Europa League and lost to Atalanta.”
Liverpool fans fume at Slot for his possible dig at Klopp – ‘This guy is a troll’
Liverpool fans hold Klopp in the highest regard for all he did on Merseyside after he led them back to glory and left them two years ago in a much better place than they were when he arrived in 2016.
Klopp has even been linked with a return to Liverpool in the last few months amid uncertainty around Slot’s future following a poor run of form.
Liverpool have been backed to sack Slot soon, despite some better recent performances, and many of their supporters would be content to see that happen following his latest comments.
Taking to X, one fan said: “The disrespect Arne Slot has shown us as a football club over the last few weeks is beyond disgusting. Talking about 2 years ago in our final season under the iconic Jurgen Klopp. Arne Slot will HAVE to be out of this job real soon.“
Another added: “The latest irritating factor (of which there are many) in Slot’s terrible press conferences are the not so subtle digs at Jurgen Klopp and his achievements in his time at LFC. Slot seems to be using the low points of that time to make himself look better.”
And one fan wrote: “Klopp told Liverpool fans to sing Slot’s name. Slot now having a go at Klopp’s record. Look at the difference between the two men. One is a world class coach and world class human. The other is Arne Slot.”
