Gibbs does not want to leave Arsenal in the summer

Kieran Gibbs is adamant he wants to stay and fight for his Arsenal future, Football Insider sources understand.

The 26-year-old’s long-term future at the club is in doubt after losing his place as the team’s regular left-back to Nacho Monreal.

Arsenal have not yet approach the player about a new contract even though his current deal expires in 2018.

But a source close to Gibbs has told Football Insider that his adamant he will not be pushed out of the door of the he joined as a 14-year-old.

Gibbs was part of the Arsenal team that came from behind to clinch a 2-2 draw at Tottenham on Saturday although Arsene Wenger confirmed that he only started because Monreal had a slight calf injury.

It was only Gibbs’ third Premier League start of a campaign that has cemented his status as the Gunners’ second-choice left-back.

As reported by Football Insider, Arsenal are ready to cash in on the England international while he can still command a high transfer fee.

Arsene Wenger and his scouting network are eyeing Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell and Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon as possible successors to Gibbs, although neither club are willing to sell. Football Insider revealed in January that Arsenal tried to loan Serge Gnabry to Fulham in part-exchange for highly rated Sessegnon moving to Emirates Stadium.

In other Arsenal transfer news, veteran pair Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky will end their lengthy associations with the Londoners at the end of the season after spending most of the campaign sidelined through injury.
