Former Newcastle United and Tottenham winger David Ginola has expressed his concerns regarding the future of Toon boss Rafa Benitez.
During his stint on the TalkSport breakfast show as co-host with Alan Brazil, the Frenchman admitted he had doubts about whether or not the ex-Liverpool manager would want to remain at the club while there is such certainty.
And with no new investment heading into St James’ Ginola is uncertain.
“You have a great manager there – it is a big chance for the club right now. Do I think Rafa Benitez will stick with Newcastle United for another two or three years? I have a very big doubt,” the Magpies winger told TalkSport listeners.
“I think he wants to see a club which will secure the future in terms of investment, in terms of being able to invest in players. I think he will wait a few weeks before making a decision.
“They’re in a bad position in the table, they are fighting against relegation this year.
Only earlier today, it emerged that Benitez’ odds had shortened on Bet Victor and he was now a 2/1 joint-favourite with Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino for the sack.

The Spanish boss is yet to receive any concrete information regarding how much money he has available to spend during the January transfer window, despite having repeatedly asked the question.
Newcastle’s form has taken a nosedive lately and they have plunged towards the relegation zone. With just three points between them and the sides at the bottom, Benitez is keen to bring in new blood to the club.
It had been thought that Amanda Staveley and PCP Partners were set to step in and take over from Mike Ashley, but after yesterday’s announcement that negotiations had been ‘a complete waste of time,’ it would appear the Sports Direct owner’s reign will continue.
