Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to call on boss Garry Monk to give out-of-favour striker Marcus Antonsson a chance up front.

Monk’s side face Norwich in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, with rotation from both managers expected as they put their Championship commitments to one side.

Antonsson has failed to feature on a regular basis for the Yorkshire giants this season, with top scorer Chris Wood occupying the one centre-forward role in Monk’s 4-2-3-1 system.

However, £2million summer signing Antonsson could be given a chance for Leeds after scoring goals against Sheffield Wednesday and Fleetwood and impressing from the bench against Derby.

Leeds fans are keen to see Monk give the Swedish striker a chance to lead the attack for their side, with many considering the option of partnering Antonsson with Wood.

A place in the fifth round of the EFL Cup is up for grabs, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool all still in the competition.

Leeds are without captain Liam Bridcutt who is currently suffering from a foot injury, while Stuart Dallas has also been ruled out after picking up a muscle injury on international duty. Defender Gaetano Berardi is a doubt.
