‘Glazers must pay up at Man United’ – Fans explode at ‘disgusting’ announcement

Man United supporters are hounding The Glazers once again following the latest announcement from Old Trafford.

It has been an extremely frustrating campaign for everyone on the red side of Manchester, with Ruben Amorim under pressure as Man United slip further and further down the Premier League table.

Having been kicked out of the FA Cup and EFL Cup, and now sitting 13th in the league table with nine games remaining, the Europa League title is all that is left to fight for.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who has been cost-cutting immensely at Man United this season, has tried to bring about some excitement by announcing new stadium plans as Old Trafford continues to be a laughingstock.

However, this looks to have come at a cost to the club’s season ticket holds, who, today, have learned the confirmed news that season ticket prices will rise by “around five per cent” ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

That update, of course, has not gone down well with an already frustrated fanbase as performances on the pitch continue to shock and disappoint.

Ruben Amorim must raise performances before ticket prices go up

With the 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday 16 March, the Red Devils are now unbeaten in seven matches across all competitions and are in with a serious shout of winning the Europa League.

However, that has not been anywhere near enough to alleviate the pressure currently on Amorim and his team, who are set for one of their worst league finishes in the club’s history.

The way in which the new manager will finally get this team to produce positive results on the pitch will be through a complete squad overhaul during the summer transfer window, but with the ongoing financial issues, that does not look plausible.

Of course, the ongoing financial issues are one of the major reasons for the season ticket price increases, though that has not stopped the fans from going after The Glazers, especially on social media.

The Glazers hide behind Sir Jim Ratcliffe as Man United announcement made

Stefan Borson believes The Glazers have “played” Ratcliffe since his appointment at Old Trafford, and after another unfavourable update, he is once again having to take the criticism after years of bad ownership.

One supporter has sarcastically applauded Ratcliffe for being the “protector of The Glazers” while multiple others have called for the owners to “pay up” rather than ask for more money from the fans.

It is fair to say, the news has gone down like a lead balloon, with the news branded “disgusting” and “shameless”.
