'Good luck for next season' - Tottenham fans react to Vincent Janssen's Twitter message

By Amir Mir

Vincent Janssen has stated that the final match at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon will be “special” – and Tottenham fans on Twitter have backed him to score a goal.

The 22-year-old will be hoping to take to the field against Manchester United at the weekend in what is expected to be an emotional match for those associated with Spurs.

Striker Janssen has struggled during his time in north London following his big-money move from AZ Alkmaar in the summer.

He has found the back of the net on only two occasions in the Premier League but his fans have backed him to score against United.

One fan stated that the Dutchman will make the day even more special by scoring a goal as some backed him to score the winning goal.

Considering his struggles for Tottenham this season, one supporter believes a pre-season under manager Mauricio Pochettino will help the out-of-form player.

Another supporter stated, ‘good luck for next season’ as the White Hart Lane faithful are clearly behind their player.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Over the course of the season, Janssen has played 36 matches in all competitions, scoring six goals added with his four assists.

He last started a league match for Pochettino’s side when they beat Watford 4-0 on home soil in early April, with first team striker Harry Kane out injured.

However, with the England international now back in action, he is expected to continue up top as he scored for his team during their previous home match against Arsenal.

Kane scored from the penalty spot as his team beat their bitter rivals 2-0 in what was the final north London derby to be played at the Lane.
