Celtic star reveals how he stopped Luis Suarez

Craig Gordon has revealed why he was able to make a sensational save to prevent Luis Suarez scoring during Celtic’s 2-0 defeat against Barcelona on Wednesday.
The goalkeeper produced a terrific stop when he blocked the former Liverpool striker’s effort from just six yards out when it looked destined to go in.
Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League following the defeat against the Spanish giants and though Gordon still conceded two goals from Lionel Messi, the Celtic star admitted he was pleased some of his pre-match training had paid off.
“The speed across goal is how Barcelona get a lot of their goals and my goalkeeping coach had me well prepared for that type of thing to happen,” said Gordon, as reported by Sky Sports.
“When you do it against a superstar like Suarez, it is always going to get talked about more. It is something that we worked on during the week.”

Gordon’s appearance against Barcelona was his 22nd of the season in all competitions as the Hoops have climbed to the top of the Scottish Premiership under Brendan Rodgers.
The goalkeeper has kept 10 clean sheets already this season and Celtic have conceded just eight goals throughout the Premiership campaign.
Their 7-0 loss against Barcelona at the Nou Camp was their worst defeat of the season to date but Gordon wasn’t playing as Dorus de Vries got the nod to start.
Messi’s brace ended Celtic’s challenging Champions League run but they have an opportunity to enjoy success this Sunday when they take on Aberdeen in the League Cup final and could claim Rodgers’ first piece of silverware at the club.
