‘Got themselves a bargain’ – Le Tissier wowed by Brentford after ‘outstanding’ signing
Brentford have endured a difficult summer but the Bees have made one of the best signings of the transfer window.
That is the view of former England and Southampton striker Matt Le Tissier, who told Football Insider exclusively that the Bees have secured a “bargain” from a Premier League rival.
The West London club have been systematically pulled apart this summer, losing Bryan Mbeumo to Man United, Christian Norgaard to Arsenal, and Thomas Frank to Tottenham.
Whilst selling their best players is nothing new for the Bees, it will be the first time in their history that they have been coached by a manager other than Frank in the Premier League.
For that reason, Le Tissier told Football Insider previously that he was concerned Brentford would be dragged into a relegation dogfight, and the Bees struggled in a 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the season.
However, the Premier League legend does think that Brentford have made one of the best signings of the summer, which could play a major part in their attempts to survive the drop this season.

Caoimhin Kelleher one of the signings of the summer
This article contains exclusive comment from former Southampton and England striker Matt Le Tissier.
Speaking to Football Insider exclusively, Le Tissier was full of praise for Brentford’s signing of Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.
The Premier League legend was asked to name his top three signings of the summer, and after picking Viktor Gyokeres and Matheus Cunha, the former Liverpool shot-stopper ranked third on his list.
He said: “And my third one, I’ve gone for a bargain as opposed to one of the big money signings.

“I actually think Brentford getting Kelleher off Liverpool for £18m, I think’s a really good bit of business.
“I think he’s a very good goalkeeper. Obviously, he’s been behind an excellent goalkeeper for a while.
“But I think when he’s come into the team, I don’t think he’s let Liverpool down.
“I think he’s an outstanding keeper. I think for £18m quid, think Brentford have got themselves a bargain.”
Yoane Wissa pushing hard for Brentford exit
Yoane Wissa looks set to be the next big-name exit from Brentford this summer, with Newcastle and Al-Nassr both interested in the Congolese striker.
The former Lorient man scored 19 Premier League goals last season, but has just one year remaining on his contract at the GTech.

And in a move that has seemingly been done to hasten his exit from West London, Wissa unfollowed Brentford and purged all mention of the Bees from his social media.
The 28-year-old was not involved in their curtain-raiser against Forest, and it would be a surprise to see him ever play for the club at this point.
