Darren Bent credited Marcelo Bielsa for getting the best out of his players after being blown away by Leeds United defender Ben White during the win over Luton Town.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-Derby County and Aston Villa striker revealed he was really impressed by how White ran the length of the pitch to set Patrick Bamford up for his goal in the 2-1 win over the Hatters on Saturday.
The 22-year-old centre-back has played every minute of Leeds’ Championship campaign so far, but it was only his first assist of the season on Saturday.
Bent revealed he thought White was playing very well at the moment but used the player’s display to heap praise on Leeds boss Bielsa as he had to take his hat off to the manager for him getting the very best out of his players.
When asked about White’s immense performance and his assist against Luton, Bent told Football Insider: “Yeah, he is playing really well and credit to Bielsa for getting the very very best out of players.
“I think as good as these players are, you’ve got to take your hat off to Bielsa as I don’t know what is going on in training but he’s finding a way to get the best out of them.
“For that assist there, that was brilliant, Patrick Bamford scored the penalty last week and it’s given him a new lease of life and Leeds are heading in the right direction.”
White is on loan at Elland Road for the season from Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion and is contracted to the Seagulls until 2022.
The English enforcer has only managed to make a total of two appearances for Brighton’s senior side so far, with him previously being loaned out to clubs such as Newport County and Peterborough United to get experience.
In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that the club’s Kiko Casilla hopes rise after significant developments behind the scenes.
