Souness predicts Tottenham v Watford, delivers verdict on Pochettino effect
By Will Butcher
Graeme Souness has placed his confidence in Tottenham to earn all three points against Watford on Saturday.
Spurs play host against Walter Mazzarri’s side at White Hart Lane in Saturday’s early kick-off, as they look to keep the pressure on league leaders Chelsea with all three points.
Souness told Sky Sports 1’s live broadcast of the match that he expects Spurs to come away with a win, and claimed Mauricio Pochettino has instilled a winning mentality in north London.
The Scotsman claimed Pochettino has moulded the best Spurs side of his lifetime, and claimed that they will push Chelsea “all the way”.
“I think they’ll do the business today,” Souness said. “They’ll come out with all guns blazing, and they don’t have a weak point. You look at their team, and you can’t find any faults with it.

“This is the best Tottenham team ever, in my lifetime. They have a real, real resilience about them and they will push Chelsea all the way.
“When you’re winning games as they have been done, they start to learn to know how to consistently win, and that’s what Pochettino has done.”
Spurs closed the gap to seven points between themselves and rivals Chelsea with a win against Burnley last weekend, while Chelsea lost to Crystal Palace.
Pochettino then watched his side secure a late 3-1 win away at Swansea in the middle of the week, while Antonio Conte’s side narrowly beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
A 20th league win of the season for Spurs against Watford will see them move to within four points of Chelsea, as the Blues travel to Bournemouth in Saturday’s evening kick-off.
