Graham Potter told he is two weeks from the sack at West Ham
Graham Potter has been told that he has two weeks to save his job and escape the West Ham United sack.
After a very disappointing start to the season, Potter is under massive pressure at West Ham, and the supporters have seemingly lost all confidence in him.
The Hammers were beaten 3-0 by London rivals Tottenham on Saturday (13 September), which puts them 18th in the Premier League with just one win from four games.
Football Insider have reported that the West Ham hierarchy are still behind Potter for the time being but they are also exploring the market for alternatives.
However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that if results don’t turn around within the next two weeks, the former Brighton boss will be sacked.
West Ham will make Potter decision at international break
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Potter is in danger of losing his job when the second international break comes around, as that is the time clubs usually decide to sack their manager.
Before then, West Ham face Crystal Palace, Everton, and Arsenal, with these three games set to decide the future of the 50-year-old.
Wyness added that there is still a chance Potter can turn it around at the London Stadium and save his job.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Now, if we’re to believe that normally the second international break is when a lot of clubs may make a move, I would say that Potter’s going to be one of those who could be on the danger list at the moment.
“There were some signs of improvement against Spurs in the first half, but in the second half, the team did seem to sort of fold a little bit too easily. But nevertheless, there are some positives to cling to for Potter.
“I feel a little bit sorry for him that he’s taking the blame right now for a lot of bad decisions over the years that have been made at the top. There are some bad structural flaws within West Ham in terms of the sporting director and recruitment situation that have not been addressed properly.
“Sullivan’s probably been a little bit too hands-on in many ways. There are flashing warning signs right now, and I don’t think it would be fair to make Potter take the hit for this.
“It’s really a difficult situation. The whole club’s got to come together now, and if they can, there’s still a chance to try and salvage a bad start into something, and at least get some points on the board. That is what they’re going to need. Otherwise, they’re going to be in that relegation fight pretty quickly.”

Meanwhile, West Ham will not be short of managerial applicants if they decide to sack Potter, sources have told Football Insider.
Kieran McKenna has been spotted in the boardroom at the London Stadium, sparking rumours that he could be on the Hammers’ shortlist.
Multiple Premier League title winner Jose Mourinho is also reportedly interested in the West Ham job, after the Portuguese manager was sacked by Fenerbahce.
His fellow countryman Nuno Espirito Santo is another name in contention, following his dismissal from Nottingham Forest.
