‘Graham Potter facing sack pressure at West Ham’: ‘In trouble’
West Ham United boss Graham Potter is already under major scrutiny ahead of next season’s Premier League.
The 50-year-old steered the Hammers to just five wins in 19 attempts after inheriting the managerial reins from Julen Lopetegui, who was sacked in January.
As a result of the poor management from both Lopetegui and Potter, the East London side finished just 14th in the Premier League last term.
Contrastingly, West Ham had enjoyed a top-half finish under the stewardship of former boss David Moyes in 2023/24.

Potter warned that West Ham can quickly turn on him
Last season, Potter may have been given the benefit of the doubt at West Ham, as he had not yet overseen a summer transfer window.
But the former Chelsea boss is already utilising the market to make his mark on the squad at the London Stadium.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on Saturday, 19 July, Darren Ambrose warned: “I think they’re going to struggle West Ham, I really do. I don’t think Graham Potter’s come in and done particularly well last season.
“I don’t think they’ll go down. I think they’ll be fighting relegation if I’m honest. I just think they’re going to be struggling.
“Graham Potter. I don’t know. When he was at Brighton, everyone was saying what an unbelievable manager he was.
“I don’t think he’s unbelievable, and the time at Chelsea didn’t go particularly well, and it’s not going particularly well here.
“I think he could be in trouble if they don’t start quickly. I think the support will turn on him pretty quickly, and they want to be successful.”
Potter must continue strong work in the transfer market
Football insider verdict
As alluded to by Ambrose, the services that Potter has brought to the table at West Ham have fallen below the standards that the London Stadium faithful had hoped for.

The Hammers tasted silverware when they won the Conference League in 2023, but since then, the East Londoners have failed to progress.
Meanwhile, Potter’s transfer activity was largely dictated by the departures of fullback duo Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal, who had both served the London Stadium club well over the years.
However, West Ham have effectively compensated for their exits by acquiring Kyle Walker-Peters and former Slavia Prague star Malick Diouf, who featured in Senegal’s win over England in June.
Potter must continue the positive steps he has made in the transfer market, especially after talented winger Mohammed Kudus joined rivals Tottenham.
Meanwhile, the striker position is also a concern for Potter following Evan Ferguson’s unsuccessful loan spell in East London from Brighton.
Elsewhere, the Hammers have been tipped to take a gamble on former Newcastle United forward Callum Wilson in a West Ham Zone exclusive.
