Graham Roberts backs Tottenham ace to emulate PL great
By Dominic Toner
Graham Roberts believes that Tottenham forward Harry Kane can go “very close” to breaking the Premier League’s all-time goalscoring record.
Former England international Alan Shearer currently holds the record after 260 top-flight goals during spells with Blackburn and Newcastle.
Shearer is regarded as a Premier League legend for his goalscoring abilities and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is currently second in the list with 194 league goals.
Kane is still at the earlier stages of his career and is proving to be a consistent scorer in England’s top league.
The 23-year-old has netted 62 goals in 102 Premier League appearances and is now regarded as one of Spurs’ top stars.

Ex-Spurs player Roberts feels that Kane could get close to Shearer’s record during the next 10 years.
“Agree with Jamie Carragher that Harry Kane can get very close to Alan Shearer over the next ten years at Spurs exciting times for him and club,” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Kane has developed into a Spurs regular after a string of loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester as a youngster.
The England international is now leading the frontline in Mauricio Pochettino’s side and is hopeful of guiding them to the Premier League title this season.
He has made 19 appearances this campaign for the north London club and scored 15 goals in return, with 13 of them coming in the Premier League.
Kane scored a sensational hat-trick in his last game against West Brom and will be hoping to continue that run against Manchester on Sunday.
In other Tottenham news, Thierry Henry has expressed his love for the club’s attacking midfielder.
