Graham Roberts delivers Twitter verdict as Tottenham suffer FA Cup defeat to Chelsea
By Will Butcher
Graham Roberts has revealed his pride to be a Tottenham fan on Twitter despite seeing his old side lose to rivals Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were knocked out of the competition after losing 4-2 at Wembley, despite equalising twice through Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
Posting on his personal Twitter account, former Spurs star Roberts said he was “proud” of his old side, as their wait for an FA Cup trophy now stands at 26 years following their last triumph in 1991.
Proud of the boys I love this club @SpursOfficial

Chelsea took the lead in just the fifth minute, as Brazil international Willian found the corner of Hugo Lloris’ goal with a well-placed free-kick.
However, England ace Kane scored his 26th goal of the season to equalise at Wembley, heading home at the near post from Christian Eriksen’s low cross into the Chelsea penalty area.

Willian doubled his tally before half-time, but Spurs pegged the Blues back for a second time through Alli as he latched on to another Eriksen assist to fire past Thibaut Courtois.
Antonio Conte’s decision to bring on Diego Costa and Eden Hazard changed the game, as goals from the latter and Nemanja Matic ensured a 4-2 win and knocked Spurs out of the cup.
The loss sees Roberts’ old side now look to the Premier League in their hunt for silverware, but they must overcome a four-point gap separating them and Chelsea at the summit of England’s top tier.
Spurs are next in action against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, as they look to produce a repeat of the reverse fixture that saw them triumph 1-0 at White Hart Lane back in August.
