Graham Roberts makes bold Tottenham claim after Burnley victory

By Dominic Toner

Graham Roberts has described Tottenham’s win over Burnley as their result of the season.

Spurs managed to keep the title race alive after a victory over the Clarets, while leaders Chelsea suffered a shock 2-1 against Crystal Palace.

The north London club managed a 2-0 scoreline over Sean Dyche’s side and moved seven points behind Chelsea in the table.

Eric Dier and Heung-Min Son netted second-half goals and proved they can manage without talisman Harry Kane.

However, the three points came at a cost as central midfielders Harry Winks and Victor Wanyama were both removed due to injuries.

Ex-Spurs player Roberts has made the bold claim that the Burnley win was their best of the campaign, despite victories over the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City already.

“For many reasons result of the season for us I am so proud of the lads,” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Spurs now have nine games remaining to try make up ground on the leaders and look in a strong position to at least secure a top-four spot.

They now turn their attention to a mid-week game against Swansea and will be hoping to continue their momentum.

They have now won their last five consecutive games across all competitions and have found their best form at an important part of the season.

In other Tottenham news, Pochettino has named the player that is too strong for him.
