Graham Roberts sends Twitter message to Tottenham 25-year-old after award win

Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter to congratulate Christian Eriksen on winning Tottenham’s supporters clubs’ player of the year award.

Spurs announced that the 25-year-old had won the award on their official Twitter account on Saturday while also confirming that Dele Alli had earned the accolade for goal of the year with for strike against Watford.

Roberts, a Tottenham legend, hailed Eriksen for his brilliant performances over the course of the campaign by saying that he was a deserved winner of the award.

“Well done to Christian Eriksen on supporters’ player of the year. Delighted for our little magician,” said the 57-year-old on his personal Twitter account.

Eriksen has played a huge part in helping Spurs maintain a serious Premier League title challenge this term.

The 66-times Denmark international had a slow start to the campaign but really came into his own around the festive period.

He has played in all but one of Spurs’ league matches this season, appearing in 46 matches across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and supplying a staggering 20 assists.

Eriksen and his teammates will be playing at White Hart Lane for the final time on Sunday as Manchester United travel to North London in the last fixture before the historic ground is demolished.

Chelsea secured the Premier League title with a nervy 1-0 win at West Brom on Friday which means that Tottenham are now guaranteed a second place finish if they can earn two more points in their last three games.
