Senior Everton player lined up for transfer to La Liga club (not Deulofeu) - report
By Matt Bullin
Granada manager Tony Adams is lining up a summer bid for Everton stalwart Phil Jagielka, according to a report.
The Mirror claim that Adams is interested in signing the 34-year-old to bolster his back line ahead of a likely promotion chasing season in the Spanish second tier if they fail in their bid to remain in La Liga.
It is said that Adams will make a move for Jagielka, who could become the second Everton player to make a summer move to Spain along with Gerard Deulofeu.
The Arsenal all-time great took over at Granada last week, swapping his position as director of football following the sacking of Lucas Alcaraz.
However he got off to the worst possible start in his first game as his side lost 3-0 to Celta Vigo at the weekend, which leaves them seven points from safety with just six games to play.

Adams has reportedly taken former Premier League duo Nigel Reo-Coker and Kieron Richardson on trial with a view to signing them after the season finishes.
Jagielka is currently enjoying a rich vein of form at Everton and has scored three in his last three games.
The Toffees skipper has been a mainstay in Ronald Koeman’s back line this season and has made 22 Premier League appearances.
Football Insider verdict
Jagielka is 34 and did lose his starting spot to Ramiro Funes Mori prior to the Argentine getting injured, but the club captain has impressed since returning to the starting XI. Reports are flying around saying that Everton are interested in signing Virgil van Dijk and Michael Keane. Realistically, Koeman will only sign one of them, and maybe neither. Adams’ interest in Jagielka is a long-shot and seems bizarre given the 40-time England international has never played for a club in Spain it would be an odd decision to go there now. But if Koeman does buy in centre back reinforcements Jagielka may feel he needs to move in order to play first team football – but even if this was the case – Granada would not be one of his desired destinations.
