Accrington Stanley chairman Andy Holt is delighted to see reports linking Rangers ace Josh Windass with a move back to England.
The Scottish Sun has reported that Burnley and newly-promoted Cardiff are in the hunt to sign the £3million-rated attacker, just three months after he signed a new deal at Ibrox that committed him to the Gers until 2021.
It is understood that Steven Gerrard would be willing to cash in on the 24-year-old former Accrington star if it means that he could free up funds to sign other players.
Now, Holt has taken to his personal Twitter account to deliver his verdict on one of his old players being linked with a move to the Premier League.
“Great news for Josh if true, delighted for him,” he said.

Football Insider verdict
It is really hard to see how Windass could attract attention from the Premier League. His form has been abysmal as of late and there’s no way that a team like Burnley should be looking at the 24-year-old after they qualified for the Europa League. It would make more sense for Cardiff to sign him up, but still, Windass seems like a player who would be better suited to the Championship should he return south of the border. Windass has been decent for Rangers this season. His form at the start of the year was a particular highly. However he has failed to do it on a consistent basis and really has gone missing in the big occasions against Celtic. Should Gerrard cash in on him? For £3million, yes. That money will definitely help the incoming Gers boss strengthen his options and the attacking midfield slot should not be the hardest to fill.
In other Rangers news, this £26,000-a-week Gers midfielder is on the verge of having his deal torn up.
