Guglielmo Vicario sends Dejan Kulusevski emotional message after confirmed news

Guglielmo Vicario took to social media to send Tottenham team-mate Dejan Kulusevski an emotional message, with the winger set for a spell on the sidelines.

It has been a dismal season for everyone involved with the North London side, with the club guaranteed an embarrassingly low finish in the Premier League.

Spurs have won just one of their last ten league games, and that horrific run has seen them drop to 17th in the table.

Postecoglou’s side have one last chance to save their campaign, a Europa League final against Manchester United in Bilbao.

If they were to beat the Red Devils, not only would they secure a long-desired piece of silverware, but they would also clinch a place in next season’s Champions League.

Kulusevski undergoes surgery

Postecoglou will not have the services of one of his key players for the Europa League final, after Kulusevski underwent knee surgery.

The Swedish international suffered an injury to his right patella in Tottenham’s defeat to Crystal Palace, and will now be out of action for some time.

It is a bitter blow to Spurs’ hopes of winning their first major trophy since 2008, with the 25-year-old a vital part of the North London side.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was quick to send his best wishes to the winger, putting a photo of him with his arm round Kulusevski on his Instagram story (14 May).

Vicario also included a message to the former Juventus man, saying: “The family is gonna miss you and we’ll fight for you. See you soon on the pitch Philosopher.”

Tottenham aim to end trophy hoodoo

Football Insider Verdict

If Tottenham are to end their silverware hoodoo, they will need some luck along the way, and losing Kulusevski is not a good start.

It is such an important game for both sides, with Man United also having a dismal domestic campaign, and sitting just one place above Spurs in the Premier League.

Like Postecoglou, Ruben Amorim is under pressure, with many Red Devils fans believing that he should be sacked if they lose the final.

Tottenham are unbeaten in six games against United

In more positive news for Tottenham, they have a superb recent record against the red side of Manchester, which should give them some confidence going into the contest.

Spurs are unbeaten in their last six games against United, and if they were to extend that run to seven, then Postecoglou may be slightly more comfortable in his managerial role.
