By Will Butcher
Guillem Balague has lauded Tottenham’s efforts throughout 2016 after revealing the north London side have only the ninth highest Premier League wage budget.
Spurs were magnificent throughout the 2015-16 campaign, as they challenged Leicester until a feisty 2-2 draw at Chelsea saw Claudio Ranieri’s side complete the unthinkable.
Posting on his personal Twitter account, Balague claimed “process, patience and philosophy” were key to Mauricio Pochettino’s success as manager of the north London giants.

That coincided with Tottenham’s early-season stutter, as they picked up just one win in 10 league and cup games between October and November.
However, five wins in their last six Premier League games have seen Spurs move up to third after they secured an emphatic 4-1 victory away at Vicarage Road against Watford.
But north London rivals Arsenal could halt Spurs in their climb towards the top of the Premier League table, as they face Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
A Gunners win would see Arsene Wenger’s side move into third, with Tottenham occupying the final Champions League slot behind Liverpool and Chelsea.
