'Halliday with a beard' - Rangers fans react on Twitter to Toral display v Aberdeen

By Will Butcher

Rangers fans were disgusted with the performance of Jon Toral following his display against Aberdeen on Wednesday night at Ibrox.

The Arsenal loanee started in the middle of the park in a 4-2-3-1 system alongside Josh Windass, as the Dons overpowered Pedro Caixinha’s side in all areas of the pitch.

Derek McInnes’ side earned a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Graeme Shinnie and Ryan Christie, with the Gers unable to build on Martyn Waghorn’s strike.

The Spaniard lost possession multiple times in the middle of the park and was guilty of looking like he was already on holiday throughout the match – disinterested and lazy.

Rangers fans reacted on Twitter to Toral’s display against the Dons, venting their frustrating at their number eight for his dismal performance in central midfield.

The 22-year-old has made 14 appearances in all competitions since joining the 54-time Scottish champions, but is unlikely to complete a permanent move this summer.

Toral is yet to find a permanent home, after spells with Brentford, Birmingham and Granada as well as Rangers, with an important summer ahead for the midfielder.
