West Ham United have completed the biggest sponsorship deal in the club’s history, after agreeing to extend their deal with bookmakers Betway.

The Evening Standard report that the new deal is worth in excess of £10m per annum, which represents a healthy boost to their previous deal of £6m per annum with the betting giants. The Hammers’ original deal with Betway was agreed in February 2015.

The Standard also report that the new deal includes increased signage around the London Stadium, the new home of the Hammers.

The three-year deal will extend the club’s shirt sponsorship with Betway until May 2020 and West Ham now boast the seventh most lucrative sponsorship deal in the league.

West Ham’s Vice-Chairman Karren Brady praised the new deal and said that it shows that the Hammers are on the way up.

Brady told the club’s website: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Betway, signing our biggest-ever commercial deal in the process.

“Our brand has grown faster than any other major Premier League club in the past two years, and an equally ambitious, forward-thinking brand like Betway wants to be associated with that success.

“Betway have been with us during two of the most momentous years in our history, as we said farewell to the Boleyn Ground and moved into our stunning new home, but they know that the best is still to come.

“The revenue that this deal generates will be reinvested in our playing squad, and will allow us to enjoy ever greater success in the years to come.”

The Hammers still trail the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham, but this move represents a big statement of intent to join the big earners in the league.

Manchester United lead the shirt sponsorship table, earning a massive £47million per annum from their sponsors Chevrolet.
