Hamza Igamane reacts to Danilo Pereira’s new message amid Rangers exit links

Hamza Igamane has reacted to a new update from teammate Danilo Pereira as rumours around his Rangers future continue to circulate.

Rangers endured a campaign without silverware last term, but Moroccan international Igamane was a shining light in a tough season for all at Ibrox.

The 22-year-old joined the Gers from AS FAR for just £1.7million [Daily Record] last summer, but his consistently impressive performances saw him notch 16 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions after recovering from injury.

Football Insider revealed in April that Rangers could be forced to sell Igamane if a big money offer comes in this summer, and the Moroccan frontman was recently linked with the likes of West Ham, Everton and Brentford.

Former scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that Igamane is closing in on a move to Ligue 1 outfit Lille, despite the fact that new boss Russell Martin is keen to build his side around him and Nico Raskin.

Danilo Pereira issues ‘ready’ message

Igamane remains a Rangers player for now, and while many at Ibrox would be sad to see him leave, Danilo Pereira is likely in the opposite camp considering his lack of game-time behind the Moroccan last season.

The 26-year-old forward took to Instagram on Sunday (13 July) to post a message to Gers fans as the 2025/26 campaign nears, with some pictures and videos of him in training, saying: “Grace got me here. Faith will take me further. Ready for the season.”

Pereira’s update saw teammate Igamane respond with a like, while other footballers such as Tijjani Reijnders, Ryan Gravenberch, Marcos Senesi, Dujon Sterling and Connor Barron all followed suit.

Igamane sale could help Rangers back Martin

Football Insider verdict

Former Southampton boss Martin is now at the helm for Rangers, and the club will want to give him to best chance of success next season, so potentially securing a major profit on Igamane could partly fund the rest of their transfer window as he looks to bolster other positions in his squad.

Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises officially took charge of the club in May, and Martin is planning a squad overhaul with Cyriel Dessers also set to depart Ibrox, as revealed to Football Insider by former scout Brown.

Football Insider revealed on 2 June that Rangers’ new owners are expected to make big transfer funds available to Martin, and with so many teams in the race to sign Igamane the prospect of a bidding war is strong, with the fee potentially pushed up even higher.

They are likely to want to sanction at least one big sale to further fund their business, and Igamane could be chosen as the man to let go of in the face of interest from Premier League and Ligue 1 sides, with RC LensLilleStrasbourg and Rennes all also interested in securing his signature, according to reports.

The Moroccan international is bound to fetch a healthy profit if he is sold, and it would certainly represent great business for the Gers if he was sold on for a sizeable fee just a year after joining the club.
