Hannibal Mejbri and Odobert react to Maxime Esteve’s ‘incredible’ Burnley message

Maxime Esteve had a passionate message to Burnley supporters despite speculation surrounding his future at the club.

Esteve has enjoyed an outstanding campaign under Scott Parker, playing a crucial role as Burnley secured automatic promotion back to the Premier League, finishing with a remarkable 100 points in the Championship.

Despite their dominant season, it wasn’t quite enough to seal the title, with Manor Solomon’s dramatic stoppage-time winner for Leeds on the final day allowing the Yorkshire side to edge top spot by the narrowest of margins.

The French defender has been a mainstay in Burnley’s record-breaking back line, helping the Clarets keep 30 clean sheets across the season – matching a Football League record set by Port Vale in 1953/54 and setting a new Championship record in the process.

His commanding displays have inevitably attracted attention, with Football Insider revealing Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace and Everton are showing interest in Esteve ahead of a potential summer move.

Nevertheless, Esteve appeared in high spirits following Burnley’s end to the season, showing appreciation for the fans and the achievement, despite the growing uncertainty over where his future lies.

Maxime Esteve sends passionate message to Burnley fans amid Premier League interest

Amid mounting speculation over his future, Esteve shared a heartfelt message with Burnley fans, posting a season highlights montage on social media with a caption that read:

“Where we deserved to be!

“An incredible season, centurions, the record for clean sheets, goals conceded, and above all the return to the Premier League that we had promised you.

“Thank you all for your magnificent support throughout the year, both at Turf Moor and on the road. I look forward to seeing you again for another exciting season! Up the Clarets.”

The post received plenty of reactions, with former Burnley winger Wilson Odobert and CJ Egan-Riley among those to like the video, while Hannibal Mejbri commented: “You’re too strong (translated from French).”

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Everton are targeting Esteve as a potential replacement for Jarrad Branthwaite.

The Toffees centre-back is yet to commit to a new deal, and with interest from the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid continuing to grow, Everton appear to be preparing a contingency plan.

Esteve has been a standout performer under Parker, featuring 46 times across all competitions. The defender has made 37 interceptions, won 167 duels, and chipped in with a goal, playing a key part in Burnley’s promotion and record-breaking season.

Scott Parker linked with surprise Premier League return amid Tottenham interest

It’s not just Esteve attracting attention as Football Insider revealed Parker is a surprise name being considered by Tottenham as a potential successor to Ange Postecoglou, should the Australian leave the club this summer.

Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider he believes Tottenham could take a chance on Parker and that he is ready to make the step up to Premier League management again, backing him to succeed.

Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham could hinge on whether the club secure the Europa League trophy or end the season in disappointment, which may accelerate Spurs’ interest in alternative candidates.
