Noel Whelan has claimed Jack Harrison has been “unbelievable” in training since returning to Leeds United for his second loan spell this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds striker claimed that he has been hearing great things about the 22-year-old winger.
Harrison had a mixed first season on loan from Manchester City despite being a regular starter on the left wing of Marcelo Bielsa’ side.
The manager is convinced that Harrison can reach new heights in his second campaign at Elland Road and Whelan agrees the rising star can achieve big things.
“He has really hit the ground running this season and it’s nice to see,” the pundit and Leeds expert told Football Insider. “Everyone knows he didn’t deliver last season and he was a bit of a mixed bag.
“During pre-season he looked a lot stronger and was taking responsibility on his shoulders to drive the team forward and create things. I’m hearing he has been unbelievable in training as well.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him progress over the coming months. It’s his second season working under Bielsa, so we should start to see him win matches regularly.”
Harrison was in the starting XI for Leeds’ 3-1 Championship opening-day win over Bristol City last weekend, scoring the third goal in an emphatic victory.
In the latest Leeds United news, Football Insider can reveal that the club have agreed a deal worth more than £4million in a stunning eleventh-hour coup.
