Harry Kane bids emotional farewell message after confirmed Bayern exit

Harry Kane sent an emotional farewell message to a teammate following their confirmed exit from Bayern Munich.

Kane has played a pivotal role for the German giants throughout the season and was a key figure in their Club World Cup campaign.

Despite a strong run in the competition, Bayern were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Paris Saint-Germain, falling to a narrow 2-1 defeat.

The result, however, was overshadowed by Jamal Musiala’s serious lower leg injury, which drew concern from players and fans alike.

Before their exit, Kane had showcased his goalscoring form for Bayern once again, netting twice in the round of 16 against Flamengo and three in the competition in total.

With the season now wrapped up, the England captain has said goodbye to a teammate who will officially depart the club this summer following the conclusion of their Club World Cup journey.

Thomas Muller says goodbye to Bayern Munich after 25 years

It was confirmed back in April that Thomas Muller would leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, and following their recent loss to PSG in the Club World Cup, the match marked his final appearance for the club.

Kane paid tribute to the German icon on Instagram, writing: “[Muller] thank you for everything! A legend of this club and this game! It’s been a pleasure to play with you and share a changing room over the last couple of years – some special memories made! All the best with whatever’s next.”

The message received support from across the football world, with Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, and former Bayern and Tottenham teammate Eric Dier all showing appreciation.

Muller leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, having made 756 appearances for Bayern, scoring 250 goals and providing 276 assists.

Over his 25-year spell at the club, he won an astonishing 33 major trophies, including 13 Bundesliga titles and two UEFA Champions League crowns.

While Muller’s final season ended with yet another Bundesliga title and the last trophy of his career, it was the opposite for Kane, as it marked his first major piece of silverware.

Harry Kane could be next to leave Bayern amid Liverpool interest

Harry Kane could leave Bayern Munich.

Despite his success in Germany, Kane’s long-term future at Bayern Munich remains unclear, with a potential Premier League return still on the cards.

Football Insider revealed that Kane is open to a return to the Premier League, with Liverpool among the clubs monitoring his situation.

The England captain is currently 48 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record of 260, which is a feat that could tempt him back.

With Arne Slot targeting a new striker this summer and Darwin Nunez linked with a likely exit from Liverpool, a move to Anfield could emerge as a real possibility.
