Harry Kane breaks England legend’s Champions League record in Bayern Munich win vs Chelsea

Harry Kane continues to break records as Bayern Munich got off to a winning start in the Champions League at the expense of Chelsea.

Kane was fouled by Caicedo and swept home the resulting penalty to double Bayern Munich’s lead following an own goal by Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

Tosin Adarabioyo was poor for Chelsea at the back as Kane fired home another strike past Robert Sanchez as it finished 3-1 to the German side.

Cole Palmer returned for the trip to Bayern Munich and netted the Chelsea goal, but their unbeaten start to the new campaign comes to an end.

Harry Kane breaks David Beckham record

Kane’s two goals against Chelsea meant he broke David Beckham’s record of being involved in the most Champions League goals of any Englishman, as per Squawka.

The 32-year-old has played 58 times in the competition and scored 42 goals and registered 11 assists across spells for Spurs and at Bayern Munich.

The England international remarkably now has 11 goals for club and country this season in just seven matches.

Kane hitting form in World Cup year

Kane shows no signs of slowing down as his ruthless finishing in-front of goal was one of the major differences between Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

When the striker got a chance he took it, and proved why he is still England’s leading marksman ahead of the World Cup next year.

On this form, and with England’s attacking options, there should be no doubt that the Three Lions have enough firepower to win the tournament.

Kane will have a further opportunity to haunt an English side again in the Champions League when Bayern Munich travel to Arsenal in November.
