‘Harry Kane deal key to Tottenham agreeing shock forward signing’
Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich is set to play a key role in a future Tottenham signing given the finances involved in the deal.
The England forward became the most expensive signing in Bundesliga history when he made the £82million move to Germany in 2023.
Since then, he has scored 75 goals and provided 22 assists in just 79 appearances for Bayern, and is currently the Bundesliga’s leading scorer with 21 so far this season.
The striker has been linked with a move away from Bayern Munich in recent weeks, as Football Insider revealed that Man United want to sign Kane this summer.
In the meantime, however, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Spurs’ move to sign Mathys Tel could provide a financial offset for Bayern in the Kane deal.
This comes amid speculation about Tel’s long-term future at Tottenham after a slow start to his loan spell under Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou confirmed in February [via Sky Sports] that there are already plans in place to activate the forward’s £45million option to buy come the end of the season.

Mathys Tel’s Tottenham move questioned by Paul Robinson
Robinson previously told Football Insider that Tottenham are planning to sign Tel permanently this summer and view him as a long-term successor to Son Heung-min.
The Bayern Munich loanee was highly sought-after in the January transfer window, but Tottenham moved ahead of the likes of Man United to complete the deal.
However, there have since been concerns raised about his performances in Postecoglou’s side.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson has questioned why the forward moved to Spurs and explained that Bayern could benefit from the deal with regards to the fee spent on Kane.
“I haven’t been impressed by him so far,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s not a number nine, so it’s been difficult for him.
“There are a lot of questions that I have about Tel, you look at his age and he’s seen as one of the best talents in Europe, why would he sign for Tottenham?
“They’re 15th in the Premier League.
“Whether there’s something involved with the Harry Kane deal and there’s some financial offset with that, maybe that’s the situation.
“I don’t think he’s a number nine, he’s been playing there because Dominic Solanke is injured.
“He’s a wide attacking player, similar to the others they’ve already got in those areas.”

Harry Kane could leave Bayern Munich after Arsenal twist
Kane’s Bayern Munich future has been a major talking point in recent weeks, as the striker has a £54million release clause in his contract which becomes active this summer.
Kane has emerged as a surprise option for the Arsenal position, with former Gunner Paul Merson tipping him to echo Sol Campbell’s infamous move across North London.
Following that, industry expert Mick Brown told Football Insider that Arsenal could hold talks with Kane behind the scenes to assess his interest in the move.
However, Man United are believed to be the most interested team as INEOS want to make the England star a superstar addition to Ruben Amorim’s side.
