Harry Kane delivers verdict on Tottenham outcast Vincent Janssen
By Amir Mir
Harry Kane has hailed Tottenham outcast Vincent Janssen as “brilliant” after their 4-0 win against Watford at the weekend.
The 22-year-old started the Premier League match ahead of first-team regular Kane, who was on the substitutes bench after returning from an ankle injury.
Janssen has struggled since his move to north London in the summer, failing to score from open play in the league as that trend continued against the Hornets.
The Holland international had a number of clear-cut opportunities to open the scoring before he was substituted for Kane in the second half.
With Spurs chasing an unlikely Premier League title, this is the verdict Kane delivered on his teammates after the win on home soil.

“We’re still scoring goals and still winning games, which shows the strength in our squad,” said Kane, as quoted by the London Evening Standard.
“Heung-min Son has been great, Dele is getting goals, Christian Eriksen has been in great form and I thought Vincent Janssen was brilliant against Watford.”
Over the course of the season, Janssen has played 34 games in all competitions for Spurs where he has scored only five goals.
Mauricio Pochettino has opted to select him in the starting line-up on eight occasions from his 23 league matches where he has found the back of the net on only one occasion.
By contrast, Kane, who has been on the sidelines with injuries this term, has scored 19 goals in 23 league matches and has scored 24 in all competitions.
Following his return from injury against Watford, Kane is likely to start the league match against Bournemouth this Saturday.
Pochettino’s side will be looking to earn their 12th straight league win at White Hart Lane against the free-scoring Cherries.
