Harry Kane in ‘intensive talks’ as Tottenham to learn chances of future return
Tottenham are set to learn if Harry Kane would be ready to return to North London, with the striker set for contract talks with Bayern Munich.
Barcelona are the favourites to sign Kane if he leaves, but decision-makers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would surely be ready to throw their hats in the ring if the possibility arose.
The striker scored 280 goals for the Lilywhites before leaving in a 2023 deal reportedly worth close to £100m.
Kane has been planning to stay at Bayern for the foreseeable future, with the England international set to win his second consecutive league title this season.
But Tottenham have never lost interest in re-signing Kane, and the 32-year-old would have a decision to make if the chance to return materialised.

Bayern Munich in ‘intensive talks’ with Harry Kane
Kane‘s numbers since moving to Bayern have gone beyond belief. In his first season, the striker scored 44 goals in just 45 games, and he netted 41 last season as well.
The England international is on course to blow both of those tallies out of the water in this campaign, with 38 goals in just 33 games across all competitions already.
The German champions are set to retain their title with ease, and they are among the favourites to win the Champions League as well.

But there is a sense that Kane may have one last switch left before his career enters its final years.
That switch could well be a return to Tottenham, where the striker never managed to lift a major trophy.
The North London club will likely need the 32-year-old to run down his contract to bring him back, however, with that deal expected to expire in 2027. It appears that the question of whether he will or not will be answered soon.
Speaking on Tuesday, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said: “We are talking, that doesn’t mean negotiations have started. We are in intensive talks with Harry, then the next steps will follow.
“I can’t comment on the rumours circulating that someone is preparing anything [on a transfer bid for Kane].
“All I can say is that we are in close contact with Harry regarding him and our success.”
Thomas Frank’s comments suggest sensational move on horizon
Thomas Frank was asked about the possibility of Kane’s return in September, and, of course, the Dane was all for the idea.
“There are a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself who would like to see Kane back,” he said.
“Personally, I don’t think he will do it right now, if I’m honest. He’ll probably stay in Bayern and continue performing well.”
But Frank would not rule out a future move either, and made it clear that the striker’s return would be more than welcomed.
“He’s welcome. If he wants to join us, he’s more than welcome,” the Dane added.
