Harry Kane in ‘last chance saloon’ at Tottenham after behind-the-scenes confession – pundit

Alan Hutton has suggested Harry Kane is in the “last chance saloon” to leave Tottenham in pursuit of silverware.

The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted “time is running out” for the 28-year-old to join a top club capable of winning both domestic and European titles.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday (14 March), Kane confessed he feels Spurs are “still in a process” and that “it’s not a quick fix that happens overnight.”

However, the England striker insisted the squad are fully behind Antonio Conte behind the scenes and that they recognise the Italian needs to speak to club chiefs about his plans moving forward.

However, Hutton insisted Kane does not have time to spare if he wants to win anything.

“Look, he’s 29 in the summer. He’s not getting any younger,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.

“Of course he’s still got a lot of football within him, that’s not what I’m saying. But he hasn’t got the time on his hands to go through a project with Tottenham.

“They could get lucky, spend wisely in the summer, bring players in and win something, of course. I mean, that’s obviously possible.

“But if they’re going to go through a rebuild and change quite a lot of aspects within the team, that is going to be difficult. That takes time to knit all that together?

“His time’s running out in terms of moving somewhere where he’s going to affect a top team. Somewhere where he can go challenge and win things.

“Look at Jack Grealish, yes he’s younger but he’s gone to Manchester City, he wants to win things. There’s an opportunity to win in the league and the Champions League in the first season.

“I think that’s where Harry Kane’s at and he needs to make the decision. I thought last summer was the ideal time, it didn’t quite happen.

“He’s kind of in the last chance saloon, really, if he wants to move and Tottenham want to get big money for him.”
