Harry Kane sends message to Tottenham players ahead of Southampton clash

Harry Kane has stated that he is “gutted” not to be playing for Tottenham but wished his teammates good luck for their clash against Southampton.

Mauricio Pochettino’s will welcome the Saints to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon in what will be a tricky Premier League encounter for the home team.

It will be made even tougher because they will be without their star man and the club’s top scorer, Kane who has scored 19 league goals this season.

The England international injured his ankle during the 6-0 FA Cup win against Millwall last Sunday and is now on the sidelines for a number of weeks.

Nonetheless, Kane sent out this message to his players and supporters prior to the game at the Lane.

“Big game at the Lane today,” Kane wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Gutted not to be playing but good luck to the lads.”

There are two likely contenders to replace Kane in the forward role, with Son Heung-Min expected to lead the way ahead of Vincent Janssen.

Versatile attacker Son scored a hat-trick during the FA Cup win and could get the nod ahead of Janssen who also found the back of the net during that match.

Spurs are unbeaten at home this season and they will be looking to maintain that run against Claude Puel’s side.

Pochettino’s men have ambitions of finishing in the top four this term and they can extend the six-point lead they have on fifth-placed Arsenal by picking up all three points.
