Harry Kane to Man United: ‘Immediate replacement’ deal lined up by giants

Man United will face more competition in their interest of Harry Kane following reported interest from another major club.

Kane has been in terrific form for Bayern Munich this season, netting 10 goals already for Vincent Kompany’s side.

Kane’s latest brace against Chelsea in the Champions League saw him surpass David Beckham’s record for the most goal involvements by an Englishman in the competition.

The 32-year-old has played 58 times in the competition and scored 42 goals and provided 11 assists across his time with both Spurs and Bayern Munich.

However, despite his crucial performance, he continues to be linked with a move away as Football Insider revealed Man United are among clubs interested in Kane should he be allowed to leave Bayern.

Now, a recent report has suggested that competition for the England captain is intensifying, with another European giant entering the race.

Barcelona to join race to sign Harry Kane

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Barcelona are the latest club to show interest in Kane, as they see him as the “immediate replacement” for Robert Lewandowski.

They also added that Hansi Flick is interested in bringing the striker in, and knows him well from his time in Germany.

This comes days after Football Insider reported that Barcelona are also interested in Haaland, but City would want more than £150 million – a figure that could put off potential suitors.

It is believed United owners INEOS see Kane as a major target for Man United in future windows, as it was revealed he has a release clause in his contract for next summer.

If he is available, Tottenham would also be in the mix as Daniel Levy has confirmed Tottenham will have first refusal to re-sign Kane, which was included when the deal was completed in 2023 [Sky Sports].

As speculation around Kane gathers pace, a key player at the club continued to be linked with a move away as Newcastle remain interested in Kobbie Mainoo.

However, Football Insider revealed Man United are unwilling to sanction Mainoo’s departure, reflecting their summer stance.

Mainoo pushed for an exit during the summer, but the club stood firm and refused to let him leave without securing a replacement.

Amid Newcastle’s interest, it seems as if the Red Devils’ stance is unlikely to change come the winter transfer window.
