Harry Kane ‘wants to be a part’ of Tottenham future after Conte hint – pundit

Tottenham striker Harry Kane will reject the chance to join Man United if Antonio Conte remains in north London.

That is the view of former Sunderland and England striker Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 28-year-old’s future.

Kane starred for Spurs on Sunday in a 5-1 thrashing of Newcastle United.

Speaking to Football.London (3 April), Conte heaped praise on his centre-forward for his “massive” performance.

The Spurs boss also hinted that Kane would be happy to stay at Spurs this summer.

He said he hopes to continue working with the England captain, who he claimed is enjoying his football.

According to The Athletic‘s Laurie Whitwell (28 March), Man United want Kane, regardless of who is their manager next season.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the latest, Phillips said: “If Conte stays I think he’d by happy to stay.

“It can be hard to turn down a Real Madrid or a Man City but I’m not so sure if Man United are in that bracket right now.

“He is playing with freedom. It looks like he gets license to do what he wants from Conte. Conte is allowing Kane to do what Kane does best.

“Kane is clearly going to be happy with where his club is in the league. If they finish in the Champions League spots it will be a big boost for the football club.

“I expect him to stay at Spurs. I think good things will happen over time. He will want to be a part of that.”
