Jordan Pickford has taken to social media with an emotional message for the supporters after exciting confirmed news at Everton.

Vitaliy Mykolenko and James Garner are in contract talks on Merseyside, with The Friedkin Group clearly eager to keep the bulk of the current squad together for the foreseeable future.

Pickford has been breaking records for England during the international break, and the talented shot-stopper is once again being rewarded for his talent and loyalty with the Toffees back on Merseyside.

The 31-year-old has racked up 326 senior appearances for the Blues since his arrival from Sunderland in 2017, and while it has been a rollercoaster of a journey, fans will be buzzing about the latest news.

Jordan Pickford puts pen to paper on new Everton contract

Pickford has put pen to paper on a brand-new deal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, adding another four years onto his stay until the summer of 2029.

Taking to Instagram (16 October), the goalkeeper wrote an emotional message, saying: “4 more years. Couldn’t be prouder to keep representing this club that means so much to me and my family.

“Eight amazing years already, the fans, the people, the passion, it’s in my blood now. Here’s to more memories, more fight, and more special moments.”

Reacting to the news, Man United‘s Harry Maguire wrote: “Well deserved, mate,” with clapping and fire emojis, while fellow goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale replied: “Big news, boy,” with a love heart.

Which other players need new contracts at the Hill Dickinson Stadium?

Mykolenko and Garner’s contracts are set to expire next summer, and both of them should top of the list to earn new deals should the Toffees begin to address different players in the squad.

Michael Keane is also in the same boat, and before this season, supporters would have been happy to see him go. However, with Jarrad Branthwaite sidelined at Everton, he has experienced a resurgence.

Fans would also love to see Idrissa Gueye‘s stay extended, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, and the conversation can quickly be moved on to Dwight McNeil and Carlos Alcaraz.

Several players’ futures are currently on the line, but given how proactive the club are being, their situations should be sorted out sooner rather than later.
