Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes impressed by ex-Man United teammate’s dream display

Man United players such as Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire shared their reaction to a former teammate’s debut after an impressive performance.

Ruben Amorim’s side has seen an overhaul in their attack this season, with Man United signing Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

However, Sesko has yet to impress while Cunha is still searching for his first goal in the opening fixtures.

With the number of arrivals coming in, the side have also had to balance the books as Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Rasmus Hojlund left Old Trafford.

While Amorim encouraged those players to pursue opportunities elsewhere, Hojlund made a strong impression on his Napoli debut, scoring and earning praise from his former teammates.

Man United stars react as Rasmus Hojlund scores on Napoli debut

Hojlund was impressive on his Napoli debut as he scored in the side’s 3-1 victory over Fiorentina, helping them return to the top of the Serie A table.

The Danish striker posted on Instagram following his display with a caption to say: “First day at the new job didn’t disappoint”.

His former teammates showed support to the forward, with Harry Maguire saying “Love it mate”, while Antony commented with multiple applause emojis.

Other players such as Bruno Fernandes, Cunha and Kobbie Mainoo shared their own reaction by liking the message.

Football Insider revealed Man United want to sell Hojlund permanently in an attempt to raise funds for reinvestment in the squad, but he joined Napoli on a loan with a conditional obligation to buy.

However, with Romelu Lukaku currently injured, the Dane is likely to play an important role under Antonio Conte.

The 22-year-old has struggled for consistency since his £72 million move to Old Trafford, finishing last season with just four Premier League goals, but he has started strongly in Italy.

Ruben Amorim retains Man United backing despite fan pressure

The hierarchy have backed the manager with the arrivals and exits, but Man United fans are calling for Amorim to be sacked following their latest defeat to Man City.

However, reports reveal Amorim is not under any sack pressure at the club and continues to retain the support from the board.

He has won just six of his 31 Premier League games, but the hierarchy appear willing to stay patient while overseeing the squad’s recent changes.
