Harry Maguire posts five-word message to Man United fans after exclusion

Harry Maguire has sent a message to Man United supporters after being left on the bench for their Europa League win over Viktoria Plzen.

The Red Devils were forced to come from behind to claim victory in Czechia and give their chances of automatically reaching the Last 16 of the competition a boost.

After an Andre Onana error had gifted the hosts an opening goal, a double from Rasmus Hojlund was enough to turn things around an give Ruben Amorim’s side a 2-1 win.

Although Maguire did not get on the pitch for Man United in that game he still seemed pleased with the result on Thursday (12 December).

Posting on his Instagram story in response to that match, the England international simply wrote: “Good away win in Europe”.

Harry Maguire could be facing an uncertain future at Man United

While he may have missed the first couple of games of Amorim’s reign due to injury, the centre-back has been available for the last four outings.

In that time though, he has started just once when he was substituted after an hour in the defeat to Arsenal before coming off the bench against Nottingham Forest the game after that.

Having followed that up with an unused substitute role against Plzen, questions may be starting to increase about the 31-year-old’s future with Man United once again.

Amorim has shown he will rotate his side at the start of his time in charge at Old Trafford as he looks to figure out his best XI.

The fact that Maguire himself has not had a lot of opportunities in that time arguably does not bode well for his prospects under the new boss.

As a result, with it seemingly clear that Man United need something of an overhaul of their squad Maguire could be one player that finds himself in the firing line.
